DiSSCo Europe Takes Part in the Culture & Museums International Tech Forum in Málaga

How does open science expand opportunities for Natural History collections? How does it transcend borders and engage a wider audience? How does DiSSCo-EU facilitate this process? Dimitris Koureas, from the coordination team of the distributed collections network DiSSCo-Europe, participated in a series of discussions held within the framework of the Culture & Museums International Tech Forum in Málaga on June 19 and 20, providing insights into these and other questions.

In addition to Dimitris Koureas, Isabel Rey from the DiSSCo Spain coordinating team and Secretary of ICOM Spain, and Dora Llamas, President of ICOM Spain, were also in attendance. CM Malaga 2023 brought together over 1,300 professionals, with more than 80 participating companies and organizations, and featured around a hundred experts who convened to exchange knowledge.

This year marked the third edition of the cultural event, organized by the City Council of Málaga in collaboration with FYCMA, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Andalusian Government, and with the support of Diario Sur.
